Red Sox report card
(Includes games from July 25-31)
By Boston.com Staff, 8/01/2005

Overall:
With all the off-field distractions of the last seven days (and there were many), it's easy to overlook that the Red Sox went 5-1 during their tumultuous week. The starting staff compiled a 3.32 ERA and the lineup was consistent against the Devil Rays and Twins; Boston hit .296 with nine homers. The Red Sox didn't make any deadline moves (save for the acquisition of outfielder Jose Cruz Jr.), but are starting to play great baseball as they head into the most important time of the year.
"I think July is always the tensest month of the year, especially in Boston," Red Sox GM Theo Epstein said yesterday. "We weathered it. We had our trials and tribulations and found a way to get through it with our heads held high and together as a team." Grade: A

Decided I gotta know a little something about baseball to be more American, and to be a faithful daughter of a formerly-die-hard Red Sox fan, as well as the neice of a formerly-and-currently-die-hard Red Sox fan. GO SOX!
I know, Jen posting blogs about sports. Pigs are flying, hell has frozen over, and the world is ending as we know it. Yada yada yada...
